3 Snow Days in a row!

Matt made this awesome sledding arena/winter wonderland in our front yard "complete with water slide," I mean snow slide :) . We've been enjoying our snow days at home.

Last sledding of the season

For Family Home Evening last week, we were planning to build a snowman, but building a sledding ramp instead was tons of fun (especially for Adam and Kaitlyn). And since the snow has been melting the past few days, it'll probably be the last time to sled this season :) Yea for the sun and springtime being so close! We also made yummy snow cream (ice cream out of snow and sweetened condensed milk, with flavor and food coloring added). Love those cookie-covered teeth ;)

Sierra kept running out into the street, so we had to tie her up, leash-ing her to the bush near the front door. Our camera battery died just as I was taking a photo of Raquel :( , but she was there, too.

Fun in the snow

The kids got a snow day last week. They were so excited :) (These photos were from the Saturday before.) Sierra loved being on the sled while daddy pulled her around; she looked so relaxed. And Kaitlyn and Raquel used some tie-dye water to color the snow. Fun winter art. I think Adam opted to stay inside this time :(

Blizzard Warning

Okay, so my children's school was cancelled last Friday. It was the first big snow of the season. Not that big though. Today, however, we have a blizzard warning and yet school is open! What is up with that?! Since Adam missed the bus, I had to drive him to school. First of all, the temperature is in the teens, but with the wind chill it feels like negative numbers. Driving just across the street to another neighborhood, it was hard to see at times. The wind's blowing drifts everywhere. When I returned home I had to burn some rubber to make it back up my hill of a driveway. It's nuts! And the warning has been extended from 4 p.m. until 6 a.m. tomorrow!
P.S. This photo was from two years ago, but you get the idea. Just picture more wind and snow, and there you have it.

Snow Days

We've gotten a lot of snow, and it has piled up on the edges of our yard/driveway. The kids love playing in it, trying to dig a tunnel like at Grandma Mac's house last year, and sliding down the "mountain" by the mailbox.

Happy Valentine's Day (tomorrow)!

So February is almost halfway through! I'm excited for spring, but I fear it's not as close as I'd like. We're trying to not go crazy inside and go out to play in the snow when it's not tooo cold. We got to go sledding at a lake. Lots of fun! In the mean time, I'm going to make a cheesecake for tomorrow! Yum! Matt's taking tests all day tomorrow and Friday (3rd step of the boards), but then we get to have a date night :) Yea for date nights! We're planning to attend the ward valentine party (dinner and entertainment...not sure what the entertainment will be!) But we love food, especially when it's free. And we lucked out to get a free babysitter, too! Speaking of babies, # 4 will be arriving sometime around Labor Day! (Due date is Aug. 23, but with my luck, it'll be Labor Day.) Happy Valentine's Day!
