Kaitlyn is officially done with preschool (last Thursday), and Adam has his last day of 1st grade this Thursday! And Matt has some vacation time, so we're planning a trip! Yea! Unfortunately, we've been having some computer problems, so no new photos right now.
Sierra has been busy crawling around and growing teeth. She actually climbed out of her basinet after naptime the other day (it was on the floor with its legs folded underneath, but still!), and she can get out of her Bumbo seat!
Raquel has still been wearing diapers even though she turns three next month. Maybe we'll try Aunt Cathy's method of drinking all day and visiting the toilet every half hour. Raquel is so cute with her singing. I've made up some songs and it's fun to hear Raquel trying to sing them.
Kaitlyn keeps up with her artwork and letterwriting. She likes to "make crafts" and give us little lovenotes. Sometimes she makes lunch for us like pbj's or ham and cheese sandwiches. Outside, she loves to find little caterpillars or the occasional frog/toad, hoping to keep them as pets. [Currently, we have a no-pet rule.] I made a skirt for her today. When she tried it on, she said something like "I am a princess," or "I feel like a princess." :)
Adam is finishing off the school year well. Even though he says he's so bored at school, he stays on-task and shows respect to others, which are some of his goals. He also likes to be sneaky, showing up in unexpected places to surprise you. He loves movies; says he wants to be a movie-maker when he grows up. Although, on one of his school papers, he wrote his name as "Dr. Adam Ripplinger" :)
Matt has been working nights this/past week. Even though it's the same amount of time "away" as working days, it has been hard for me. Just a couple more nights to endure. We're ready for our vacation!
Maggie, yes, I'm talking about myself in third person...okay, I have been trying to keep up with everyone. [Keep children from fighting, keep children fed and clean, keep the dishes and laundry cycling through, keep children from getting lost in public places, ...okay, you get the idea.]
Anyway, I am up too late. I've gotten up with Sierra the past few nights, probably because of her teeth. I realize how much I enjoy sleeping through the night because I haven't had to get up in the middle of the night with her for six months or more.
Well, until next time...

I always loved having my kids around during the summer---no set schedules to meet, just sleep, eat, do chores, eat, play, eat, and sleep again! So where are you going on vacation?
michigan ;) we're still looking into exactly where and what
That's a fun update. How crazy that Adam and Kaitlyn are in school. That's pretty funny that Adam wrote "Dr. Adam Ripplinger" on his paper.
Yeah, I think Eli is past the worst of his teething, he's got 5 now, well past the gumline
Thanks for the update! Everyone sounds like they're doing great.
What a coincidence that you are vacationing in Michigan---so am I in July!!! Your comments bring back lots of memories. A mom really does SO much to keep happy homes happy! And you are fabulous at it!
