Memorial Day ward bbq/picnic at the park.
Adam's the power behind the merry-go-round.
Adam and Kaitlyn enjoy neighbor and friend Nam and his pirate-ship pool.
So one night as I was getting ready for bed, I decided to stay up just a little later to clean up the kitchen/do the dishes, etc. While I was loading the dishwasher, I heard a knock on my front door. Who could it be after 11 p.m.?! Matt was at work. The kids were in bed. Surely not a neighbor. So I cautiously approached the front door, peering out the small window. And who should I find? To my surprise--my mom! I opened the door, and gave her a big hug. My mom and dad drove the 5 hours from Indy to bring us a nice set of table and chairs, which they somehow loaded into their little four-door car. They unloaded them into the garage while I set up their bed. We got to have them for a day or so. It was a nice surprise visit. Thanks mom and dad!
Matt had a party for his sunday school class. Since he was on night-shift all month, I pretty much did everything. But I did volunteer my help. [Made and mailed out invitations, bought and prepared food, etc.] It was nice that it was at one of the students' homes, complete with grill, pool, and hot tub. Despite the pool being freezing, the guys still had fun in it.
The hot tub was a big hit for Adam and Kaitlyn.
Matt grilled up the burgers and hotdogs on "the barb."

Yea for pictures!
That was so nice of your parents to bring the table and chairs (no more folding chairs--hooray!) and to surprise you. What a fun idea. I totally would've been freaked out by someone knocking on the door at 11 PM.
The baby poweder in the bathroom picture is so cute and funny. You guys have silly but cute children.
What a great surprise having your mom show up!--way better than any of the holiday protagonists (Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny). And the baby powder cracks me up, especially that she was so proud of it (apparently when I was a baby, Maren poured baby powder all over me--her first attempt at living art/hazing).
