All right, so I'm enjoying myself: little plants are growing on top of my dryer! (The kids are excited, too.) Yeah, Jen's right-- if we don't jumpstart our garden while it's still cold outside, I'm not sure we'll have enough growing season to get much food and flowers to grow. (However, much of the snow is now off of the ground, whew.)
Anyway, it took most seeds 5-6 days to sprout, under 24 hrs/day of light. I may have to transplant some into bigger containers, since the beans are growing...like weeds. :)

YEA! Look at all that green. Incredible they've grown so fast. I hope they keep doing well and transfer into the ground ok.
Not to make you jealous (well, kinda) but I planted a ton of strawberries this weekend and am hoping a few of them survive. Isn't it incredible how we get so into our plants? I'm glad I'm not the only one.
You guys are great to not let weather get in the way of your gardening. My excuse is that our yard is all shade in the summer, but I think we're going to try to grow something anyway this spring.
I cannot believe you are growing plants on the top of your drier with lights. That's totally cool.
You guys were so smart to do this! I still really want to copy you!
While reviewing my comment I realized I spelled dryer wrong. How embarrassing.
