Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park

The butterflies are here! I took the kids to Meijer Gardens to see the butterflies again this year. Every March they import butterflies to their huge greenhouse. It was very warm and humid inside. The kids were nice enough to let me get this photo of them :) before they got too uncomfortably hot and sticky.

"Great Mormon" (no joke)

This butterfly is called "Postman"

This is probably another Postman perched on the yellow flower, possibly a "Tiger Longwing"

I wish they would import butterflies to Provo! (Even if it meant I had to go in a humid greenhouse to see them :) )

I remember going into a greenhouse once in a really wet, green place where everything grew like magic, and it was extremely dry and hot--they were creating a desert environment! I guess some poor souls needed to experience a cactus or two (I'm glad they didn't send the butterflies to that greenhouse).
