Family (away from) Home Evening at the Temple and visitor center

In preparation for General Conference, we took a family outing to the Washington, D. C. Temple (of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints). "I love to see the temple," will have a whole new meaning for the kids now. I love seeing the lit-up temple spires rise out of the trees, as you drive down the highway. I love the kids' excitement at spotting it out the window. Once we arrived, we walked around the grounds and talked and took some pictures. We also went into the visitor's center, talked with a sister missionary, walked through viewing video presentations and other displays about Jesus Christ, The Book of Mormon, and our beliefs. The kids loved it! They want to go back again. Of course, they should! My parents were sealed there as husband and wife, so this temple holds a special place in my heart. :)
[Yes, our camera was acting up, and our kids took some of the photos, too.]

Adam's handy work. He wanted us looking at the temple.

I love the DC temple--I can't blame the kids for wanting to go back

Fun to see updated family blog. How great it is it to be able to go to the temple for FHE. I am glad to see you are enjoying your new home area.

What a fantastic way to prepare your kids for conference, and to reinforce why we're all here. I love the pictures. Adam did an impressive job with the pic of you and Matt looking up at the Temple---good job, Adam!! And the one with all the kids is adorable. What a wonderful family you have!

The DC temple is gorgeous. If I lived closer, I would totally want to be sealed there. What a fantastic family outing.
