It's smokin'

Here is the yummy-ness I made Friday.
Because last weekend I didn't make any sweets for my sweet, I decided to make a cheesecake today :) Unfortunately, our oven has been having problems (due to an unnamed boy apparently hiding eggnog in it way back in Nov. or something...I cleaned it out then); sometimes it smokes, but only sometimes. Well, the oven decided that an hour is way too long to be on, so it starts smoking. Luckily, it was toward the end of the baking time; the cheesecake came out just fine. After it was done, I decided to do the oven self-clean mode. Of course, that produced more smoke, our alarm sounded, but gratefully, Sierra remained asleep for her nap. To deal with the situation, I opened up the windows, turned on the fan, and stayed downstairs with Raquel. Later, Matt reminded me to turn off the heat! It's very sunny today, so we were plenty warm with the rays streaming in our windows. It worked out alright. Raquel played while I did laundry. When Sierra woke up, I brought her lunch downstairs to her. We have now been upstairs with windows shut and fan off for an hour or so. And even though the oven is still on self-clean mode, it stopped smokin'! Yea! Now for the fun part...taking out the ashes.

Smoking ovens and alarms are two of my least enjoyed things in life. Mercifully the cheesecake turned out OK. All's well that tastes well, eh?

Hey Mags! I'm glad you found my blog so I could track you down too:) I had been thinking about you and tried sending a Christmas card although not positive where you are now. I told Marie on Facebook I heard from you and she said she had just been thinking about you. It really is a small world

Kari, I did get your Christmas card, thank you! We sent cards only to family, but it's also on this blog. Do you have my email address?

The halloween picture was from a ward party a couple of years ago, before I knew about the "Wicked" couple :)
