Winter garden?

We (Matt) are attempting to sprout veggies and flowers indoors now in March, to get them ready to transplant outside in May-ish, after the last frost.

I enjoyed learning/reviewing some electricity basics and wiring some new fluorescent lights in our downstairs laundry room.
A nice web article gave info on growing lights (http://retirees.uwaterloo.ca/~jerry/orchids/light.html); The red light is a plant/aquarium light, the blue is a 7500K ("cool") full spectrum light, and the white are 5000K full spectrum ("sunlight") lights; this was the suggested setup. You grow only inches or feet away from the lights.

We've planted some of our seeds 4 days ago; sprouting may happen soon, if all is well. We'll see!

Ooh, thanks for the sites! I just may have to try this out because it just doesn't seem like we will see spring this year!

That's a really fun idea. And after looking at all those snow pictures . . . holy crap I can see why you need it! It's so crazy you live somewhere you have to create sun.

Kaitlyn's fixed 'do is cute. And still hilarious.

And the snow forts look so cool--your kids have fun parents. And a crazy dad, being out there in the snow with just a t-shirt.
