So, as I was working on my "I've been tagged!" post, I paused to check on the girls in the other room where I found Kaitlyn, my 4-yr.-old daughter, sitting on the counter with hair in one hand and scissors in the other! And hair all over the kitchen floor. Somehow I knew this day would come! While I was talking to her about it, she said she got some tape stuck in her hair. That's why she opted for the scissors. So independent. Matt called as I was cleaning it up. He said we should leave her hair (not fix it) as a punishment. Think it will work?

OH, now I have guilt about tagging you! ;)
Kaitlyn is the cutest little independent spirit. And now she has another sassy short haircut. Hilarious.
I don't know if making her keep the cut will be a deterrant, but I think I agree with Matt. Although the one time (I remember) I cut my hair, I was jealous because Matt got his hair cut and I wanted one. So I cut, then hid behind the front door so I wouldn't get in trouble. That dread was a good deterrant.
Right now I am so glad that I have boys with buzz cuts! I cannot believe how much hair she cut off! Maybe it was just the angle, but that looks like a ton of hair.
I would maybe keep it that way for the day, but I would probably get it cut or fixed before Sunday. She sure looks cute and proud of herself in that picture though!
That's too funny. What's even funnier is that her self-given haircut looks really cutting edge and hip!
oh no! I do not look forward to the day that this happens to one of my girls. I will cry. It looks like she cut it in a way that you could cut it and make it even and look good. We had some friends in Reno who had a little girl who was about Caitlin's age who cut her hair, as a punishment/ deterrent they shaved the rest of her hair. I remember being shocked when she showed up to church that Sunday but I think it worked I don't think she has cut her own hair since.
I think that every little girl cuts her own hair at one time or another!! I cute myself some killer bangs in elementary school, I thought I looked super fly at the time!!
Also, maybe something to look forward to is having the older sister cut the younger sister's hair, Ashley played beauty salon on my hair when we were younger and cut my whole braid off!! Good times.
So I haven't fixed Kaitlyn's hair yet. Only one person said anything about it at church. And Kaitlyn seems to be just fine with her hair. When she saw it for the first time in the mirror, all she said was, "it looks funny." I'm planning to fix it sometime soon, but there seems to be no rush.
I fixed Kaitlyn's hair on Tuesday. It's still uneven, but oh well. I thought that having her watch her favorite movie (Mosters Inc.) would give me plenty of time to cut it, but about halfway through, she was done. I'll have to post the "after" photo when I actually take one :)
